Hurricane Katrina

I know that people are getting a little road weary about the whole Hurricane Katrina thing, but I want to let you know that I just got back from Covington, LA where we did some relief work. Covington is due north of New Orleans. They were quite a ways inland so there was no tidal surge but there was extensive wind damage.

We went down with 11 chainsaws and they all came in handy. There were a ton of trees down and a lot of people who don't have a way to clean up their property. It was great to be the hands and feet of Christ in a real visceral way. Getting sweaty for Christ is really rewarding.

If you have never listened to the MurDog Podcast, you ought to go there and subscribe. For the next three podcasts I will be posting my sound-seeing tours that I recorded while I was down on the coast. I am really looking forward to the third one. On the third day, we were able to go on a tour of Gulfport, MS and New Orleans...and here's the kicker, we had a military escort. That means we had amazing access. I invite you to jump on the MurDog Podcast bandwagon.
