Charity is Going to Give Birth

After two false starts, Charity is going to give birth to a boy today down in Fayetteville. I just received a cell phone call from Megan to tell me that they have just give Charity the ok to start pushing... so that means that any time, Megan and I will have a new nephew. We will try and get some pictures up as soon as we get them.

More Excitement

We are surrounded with excitement today. Marilyn (my mother-in-law) had to go to the emergency room. She was experiencing severe allergic reactions to a insect bite. Megan and I were headed to the donut store and we received a call from Marilyn to tell us that she was in the Emergency room. Megan told me to turn the truck around and we headed to Washington regional. When we got there, we dropped her off. The kiddos and I headed on to the donut store. (Megan and I didn't didn't want to make the kids wait in the waiting room.)

After the kids and I had eaten some donuts Megan called us to let us know that Marilyn was ok. So this has been an exciting day to say the least. We will get back to you soon with the details on the baby.

The Front Yard is Shaping Up

Well I caught a great nap this afternoon and regained all my energy back. And with that energy, Megan and I teamed up to put a serious hurting on the front yard. I went to Lowe's to buy a wheel barrow and a chain saw. There were a bunch of limbs and overgrowth in our yard. The chainsaw made short work of those. Megan and I are slowly getting a grip on the front beds.

The back beds on the other hand are a long way from being presentable. Once I feel like the front beds are "done", we will tackle the backyard. There are two beds back there that have been all but forgotten. There were some over-grown rose bushes that I cut way back about a month ago, so they are looking better. We have planted a dogwood in the back beds, and a peony bush, and other than that, the back is a blank slate if you look past all the weeds. I hope to have those beds in hand by the end of the summer.

In addition to the back beds, our back porch is sorely in need of some lovin' too. At some point Danny, my brother-in-law, and I are going to tackle that. I don't know exactly what we are going to do, but I am sure we can come up with something... anything would be better than the sagging, rotting wood that is there now.

Man Am I Tired

It doesn't matter whether you work hard or play hard, the immediate effect is always the same. You get tired. I know that sounds obvious, but I am worn out from my trip to Las Vegas and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Conference.

I am looking forward to a good day of relaxation. I want to find the Cubs game on the TV and veg out. Who knows if that will happen. But that is my desire. Wish me luck.
